From the moment I set foot on a college campus for my first tour as a prospective student, I fell in love with the ideals of higher education: education, experiences, and community. From a young age, I often spoke of one day becoming a college professor. Now granted, I thought that I would be a professor of mechanical engineering (was a bit off on that one) but nonetheless, I always envisioned a career for myself that involved working in higher education.

 

Throughout my time in student affairs, I worked in a wide array of functional areas including academic advising, marketing & communications, undergraduate admissions, and most prominently, in LGBTQ services. Most recently, I served as the Associate Director for the Center for Trans & Queer Advocacy at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

 

Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in Higher Education at Indiana University - Bloomington. While at IU, I am working as Graduate Assistant with the National Survey of Student Engagement team within the Center for Postsecondary Research.

As a dedicated scholar of the profession, I have built my career as a researcher and writer. I have presented research at major conferences including ASHE, AERA, ACPA, and NASPA, and have also been published in the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, The Journal of Higher Education, Journal of LGBT Youth, and Educational Review. I am currently working on a few additional research projects and have some forthcoming manuscripts that I am excited to share with you soon.

Outside of my work in higher education, I enjoy performing and listening to music. I sing and play over ten instruments. I love iced coffees from Dunkin' and binge watching TV shows on Netflix.
